The Professional Soil Classifiers of Iowa

Recognizing soil as Iowa's most valuable resource, the Professional Soil Classifiers of Iowa was formed in 1974 to advance the intelligent use of the soil, to foster the profession of soil classifying, and to provide information concerning all phases of soil science.

The Professional Soil Classifiers can provide soils information to farmers, rural and urban planners, engineers, architects, sanitarian, educators, and students.

A variety of products, apparel, and soils information can be obtained from the Soil Classifiers. Some of these include:

Current PSCI projects:

  • Smithsonian Soils Exhibit (more...)
  • Garden Mentoring
  • FFA Soil Judging Contest

If you would like to get involved with PSCI or purchase any of these items please contact Rick Bednarek.
