LESSON 1a: WEATHER EFFECTS ON CROP YIELDS

INTRODUCTION

The principles and examples presented in lessons 1 and 2 can be used to improve crop management and marketing skills. They are also intended to serve as a summary and introduction to a series of comprehensive lessons in the principles of applied agricultural meteorology. The examples used apply primarily to maize (corn) in the central United States. The principles expressed are applicable to the production of most crops and are of an international scope.
