The Iowa State Agronomy Department is celebrating its rich history with the commemoration of the department's centennial in 2002. Iowa State Agronomy history includes involvement in creating numerous producer and agronomist associations, the "seed corn gospel trains", and the development of inbred lines in the maize industry, which are now parent of nearly half of all maize produced in temperate regions of the world.
