Email Lists

The Agronomy Department maintains e-mail lists to allow messages to be targeted exclusively to the affected individuals. Agronomy Department faculty or staff may access and use these lists through the global list on Microsoft Outlook. Anyone outside of the department wishing to send a message to an e-mail list is asked to send the message to: agronmlinfo@iastate.edu. Indicate which list the message is intended for and it will be forwarded to the appropriate list.

  • The following e-mail lists include all individuals who are in the Agronomy Department or have offices in Agronomy Hall (There are a few additional individuals added when their work justifies their inclusion):
    • All in the Agronomy Department e-mail is composed of all e-mail other lists included in this Section I. (Faculty, P&S, Merit, etc.)
    • Faculty e-mail list is composed of all members of the Agronomy faculty: Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Affiliate Professors, Collaborating Professors, Adjunct Professors, Lecturers and Emeritus Professors with e-mail addresses.
    • Professional and Scientific Staff e-mail list is composed of: the individuals on the ISU payroll system who are classified as Professional and Scientific and the Agronomy Department is listed as the home department, or the individuals on the ISU payroll system who are classified as Professional and Scientific with a department other than Agronomy Department listed as the home department but have offices in Agronomy Hall.
    • Merit Staff e-mail list is composed of all the ISU Merit (Union) employees with Agronomy as the home department on their payroll records. This includes both: clerical positions, e.g., Clerk, Clerk-Typist, and Accounting Clerk; and farm/ field/ lab positions, e.g., Field-Laboratory Tech, and Farm Equipment Operator.
    • Federal Staff e-mail list is composed of all the individuals housed in Agronomy Hall or the Plant Introduction Station who are not on the ISU payroll and who are not a part of the Faculty, e.g., USDA-ARS employees in clerical or technical positions.
    • Postdoctoral Staff e-mail list is composed of all individuals classified as postdoctoral on the ISU payroll system with Agronomy as the home department and with an office or laboratory space in Agronomy Hall.
    • Graduate Student e-mail list is composed of all Agronomy Department graduate students or other department graduate students who have offices in Agronomy Hall.
    • Visiting Scientists e-mail list is composed of all Agronomy Department visiting scientists or visiting faculty who have e-mail addresses.
  • Panel e-mail lists are composed of the members of the Faculty who are divided into five groups or "panels" on the basis of major interest or field of work. Some faculty members may serve on two panels.
    • Extension Education Panel
    • Plant Breeding and Genetics Panel
    • Plant Climate Panel
    • Resident Teaching Panel and Curriculum Committee
    • Soil Properties Panel
    • Panel Chairs e-mail list is composed of the DEO and the chairpersons of the five panels
  • Agronomy Advisory Council e-mail list is composed of the 5 Panel Chairs, the 4 Endowment Initiative Coordinators and the Department Chair.
  • Specialty e-mail lists are developed for a specific purpose. The following are examples:
    • Clerical Support Staff e-mail list is composed of: all the ISU Merit (Union) employees with Agronomy as the home department and whose job duties are clerical in nature, e.g., Clerk, Clerk-Typist, and Accounting Clerk; and individuals housed in Agronomy Hall who are not on the ISU payroll and whose job duties are clerical in nature, e.g., USDA-ARS employees, employee.
    • Main Office Staff e-mail list is composed ofthe departmental administrative support and accounting staff and the communications staff.
    • Field Specialists/Crops e-mail list is composed of the 14 ISU Cooperative Extension Field Crops Specialists located off campus.
