Approved Conditioners

The Approved Conditioner system was initiated by Iowa Crop Improvement Association in the early 1960’s. This system offers an opportunity for a seed conditioning facility to perform sampling and label printing operations that were previously performed by Association personnel. In addition, the system allows for the pre-labeling of seed during the conditioning operation and for reconditioning, rebagging, and relabeling of certified seed (RRR).

The objectives for an Approved Conditioning facility are as follows:

--To improve and standardize seed quality including varietal purity.
--To promote acceptance and use of quality (certified) seed.
--To simplify and facilitate the work of the Iowa Crop Improvement Association.

Under this program, individuals and businesses must demonstrate having the knowledge, facilities and personnel to properly condition seed.
