- To develop an understanding of basic concepts of forage quality
and nutritive value.
- To develop an understanding of laboratory methods used for
evaluating forage quality.
- To develop an understanding of the nutritional biochemistry
of forage species.
- To develop an understanding of plant and environmental factors
which affect forage quality.
- To develop an understanding of principles involved in the
post-harvest physiology and preservation of forages.
- To describe systems of forage utilization including hay, silage,
and pasture.
