Soil Management and Micrometeorology

My research program is focused on the effects of tillage, crop residue, and manure management on energy, water, carbon, and trace gas fluxes in soil/plant/atmosphere systems. Current projects include: measurement of carbon dioxide fluxes from soil atmosphere concentration gradients, development of a crop residue water content sensor, coupled transport of water and energy in near-surface soil layers, improving the accuracy of surface temperature and soil heat flux measurements, and carbon and nutrient cycling in agroforestry systems.
