Plant Science Career Path

  • Got his interests in plants when he was quite young
  • After college, returned to the family farm to farm with his dad and brother for 5 years
  • Dale's desire to teach and conduct research took him back to school
  • Recieved Masters & Ph D in Agronomy (Crop Physiology and Production) from Iowa State University
  • Joined ISU Extension - Webster County Extension Education Director
  • Served as Extension Field Specialist/Crops in North Central Iowa
  • 1996 - Joined ISU Agronomy Faculty as Assistant Professor and Extension Agronomist
  • 2001 - Joined Monsanto as Agronomic Systems Manager
