What does a person do in Plant Health and Protection?

A plant health professional focuses on the health of plants in much the same way as a veterinarian provides health care for animals. Plant health and protection involves all the factors that contribute to the growth of healthy plants. They are particularly interested in protecting plants from pests such as insects, weeds, and the microorganisms that cause plant diseases. They focus on developing management alternatives that will reduce plant stress with minimal environmental impact . All the tools of modern biology, from computers to genetic engineering, are used in solving plant health problems.
