Current Research
Working on maize genomics and genetics.
1) Studying nearly identical paralogs (NIPs) (Emrich
et al, 2007);
2) Functional analysis on low sequence diversity genes, which may be related to maize domestication;
3) Functional characterization of orphan genes using reverse genetic approaches (Fu
et al, 2005).

Previously served as Co-President and Co-Vice President of the Graduate Student Organization of Plant Physiology at ISU,
currently being a member of ISU Badminton Club.
