2007 IPPM Faculty/Student Retreat
|
The annual IPPM Faculty/Student Retreat was held on Saturday, September 22, 2007,
at the Story County Conservation Center of McFarland Park. A total of 24 students (89%)
and 13 faculty members (35%) attended the events. The Program Chair Dr. Kan Wang
introduced new students and faculty members and updated the IPPM name change status.
Dr. Diane Bassham updated the theme and speakers of 2008 Loomis Lecture and IPPM minisymposium.
Six faculty members gave lectures on their research programs
and five students presented posters on their graduate projects. A poster reviewing committee (three faculty and two students)
led by Dr. Madan Bhattacharyya selected the top poster presentations.
Antony Chettoor (GDCB) of Dr. Phil Becraft's lab was the winner of the 2007 poster presentation. He was awarded with $150
travel grant. This is the second time in a row Antony won this prize. Six door prizes
were given to three faculty and three students. Andrew Foudree organized a scientific word puzzle game
that has drawn many creative activities among all students and faculty. more photos.
