Apply for shipping permits

b. Import permit or requirement

For international customers, shipping seeds oversea requires various import permits from the receiving countries. Most countries require phytosanitary certification of the receiving seed issued by USDA. The guidance for Plant Export can be found on this APHIS website http://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/plants/plant_exports/pcit.shtml.

It is the responsibility of Exporter (Plant Transformation Facility) to apply for the inspection and certification for each shipment requesting for a phytosanitary certificate at the receiving country.

It is the responsibility of Importer (the customer) to secure all necessary import permits or requirements for receiving plant materials.
