Every year I try to reach out to the Agronomy 517 students in some additional manner than the course itself. I have travelled to where 517 students live and learn during the semester; students have come here to Ames; and, I have organized extra discussion activities with students outside the classroom.
Distance education is enhanced when Iowa State 'Goes the Distance' to connect with distance students, to see Agronomy 517 from the outside in.
