The field trip will be conducted from rented houseboats. We will bring along separate boats, canoes, whatever day-trip boats we can bring so that the house-boats will provide us a home and base station, and the extra boats will be used for small group forays into the river plain (aquatic and terrestrial). If you have a canoe or moveable boat please consider bringing it along.
Location. The exact section of river for the field trip will be choosen early in Spring semester, 2006, and input by all is encouraged. Informal meetings in the fall semester 2005 showed a preference for the river regions around La Crosse, Wisconsin (approximately the areas of locks & dams 7 & 8.
