About The Program

The Iowa State weed seed lab undergraduate research experience program began in 2007 to provide motivated students with an opportunity to gain experience and insight in biological research.  The program is lead by Jack Dekker, a weed scientist in the Agronomy Dept. at ISU and is a logical extension of his research with undergraduates for the last 25 years.

Opportunities exist for motivated and ambitious undergraduate students to design, conduct, analyze and publish significant weed seed science research.  Little initial experience is required, funding is available, but commitment for a minimum of one year is necessary to make this a meaningful research experience.
