The Iowa State College of Agricultural and Life Sciences awards are selected each semester to highlight the excellent contributions of faculty and staff. The Department of Agronomy won several awards for the Spring 2018 semester. All awards will be given at the awards ceremony held March 8 at 4:10 pm in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union. Ken Pecinovsky, superintendent of the Nashua research farm - P&S Award of Excellence
Founded in 1902, the Iowa Crop Improvement Association is a nonprofit organization affiliated with Iowa State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and designated as the official seed-certifying agency in Iowa.
Dr. Ken Moore, professor of Agronomy at Iowa State University, has been awarded the Pioneer Hi-Bred Agronomy Professorship. This honor is granted to agronomy faculty for exemplary performance in a number of different areas such as teaching and advising or research or scholarship. Moore will receive an endowment for three years to further enhance his career excellence.
Dr. Ken Moore has been a member of the Agronomy faculty since 1993. He is a renowned educator and scientist. Moore is recognized as a leading researcher in the area of bioenergy cropping systems and is the director of the Master of Science in Agronomy distance education program.
