Joshua is from Oskaloosa, Iowa and was originally interested in meteorology and the environment. He came to Iowa State as a meteorology major, but realized his strongest interest was in soil science. This led him to pursue a bachelor's degree in both agronomy and environmental science. He graduated Iowa State in 2017 with both degrees. He is now pursuing a master's degree in environmental science with Dr. Peter Moore and Dr. Bradley Miller as his advisors. Their research focuses on studying upland depressions on the glaciated regions of the Upper Midwest and how quickly stream networks degrade or fill the depressions on these landscapes.
