PeopleAboutGraduate Assistant-ResearchPatrick holds a BSc in agriculture(2008) from the University of Ghana. In 2010, he enrolled in the MPhil Crop Science program at the University of Ghana. That same year, he won a Scholarship to undertake his research work at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Japan. In Japan, he conducted experiments to study the influence of high temperatures on the yield and quality of Strawberry. This studies formed the basis of his MPhil thesis. In 2016, Patrick enrolled as a PhD student in the Plant Breeding and Genetics program at Iowa State University of Science and Technology, USA. He currently serves as a Graduate Research Asistant in Dr Silvia Cianzio's lab. Over the last two years, he has gained an indepth knowledge on Sudden Death Disease and Soybean Cyst Nematode diseases of soybean. He works on developing protocols to screen Soybean genotypes for resistance to SDS and SCN in the greenhouse/growthchamber.
