PeopleAboutGraduate Assistant-ResearchI am a Research Assistant in The Crop Genome and Informatics Lab at Iowa State University, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Department of Agronomy. I am involved in projects to: genotype a core collection of peanut landraces from the USDA collection; evaluate population genetics and genomic characteristics (structure, variability, LD, etc) across a subset of the peanut core collection (mini core) as well as the larger collection; evaluate Genome-Wide Association analysis (GWA) and diversity methods in peanut and soybean collections. Research interests: Marker-trait association; Plant collection genetics and genomic characterization; RNAseq and gene expression analysis; Comparative analysis of crop genomes, Crop genome evolution, Development of tools for the effective utilization of "orphan crop" germplasms.Contactpiotyama@iastate.edu515-357-896123 Crop Genome LabAmesIA50011-1051 Major: Genetics and GenomicsTags: Quantitative GeneticsCrop GenomicsGWASSNP Genotyping PeopleSupervisor(s): Dr. Steven Cannon
