The department storyteller. From a scientist's major breakthrough to a student's experience abroad, Tracy takes great care in sharing the stories of our agronomy family with the world.
Tracy started her role in November 2016, but her experience with Agronomy began over a decade earlier. As an undergraduate, she worked as an hourly for Dr. Kendall Lamkey's corn breeding lab. She may have been a journalism major from across the parking lot, but she spent a year hand harvesting, hand shelling and counting 32 kernels of B79 into manilla envelopes. Her time spent in the field with a corn hook and mesh sorting bags remains one of her favorite memories from college.
As the communication specialist for the department she develops the messaging strategy for the department. She lives by her color-coded planner and can't function without coffee and a good pen.
