Research emphasizes the study and genetic improvement of quantitative traits of corn populations, including the estimation of genetic effects important in the inheritance of quantitative traits, conduct of recurrent selection to compare rates of genetic improvement, breeding methods studies for development and testing of lines in hybrid, and adapting and improving tropical corn germplasm in temperature environments.
