GLSI proudly supports the USDA-NRCS’s Conservation Evaluation and Monitoring Activity 221 (CEMA-221). This protocol is designed to be a citizen science approach to assessing and monitoring soil organic carbon stocks. It provides soil sampling, data collection, and analysis guidelines to measure soil carbon levels. These assessments are essential for evaluating conservation practices’ impact and supporting greenhouse gas accounting on agricultural lands. Landowners enrolled in the USDA-NRCS’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) can be eligible for additional financial support by participating in this program.
