About
Research scientist and Ph.D. candidate under Dr. Licht, responsible for managing all field and laboratory cropping systems research, as well as overseeing the newly established ISU Remote Sensing and Imaging Lab (RSIL; https://rsil.azurewebsites.net/). Over the past four years, he has specialized in agronomic research and the application of remote sensing technologies. His work integrates multispectral drone imagery, high-throughput phenotyping, and satellite data to assess crop performance and support crop modeling efforts. Fernando holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy from UNESP (Brazil), a Master’s degree in Plant Pathology from Iowa State University (2020), and has five years of professional experience at Monsanto/Brazil.
